New Call for Proposals Is Now Open

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Local Funding Partnerships (LFP) marks its 20th anniversary of successful partnerships with local grantmakers.

2009 LFP Call for Proposals

Through Local Funding Partnerships, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) awards matching grants of $200,000 to $500,000 to highly collaborative, innovative projects working to solve some of the most intractable health problems for vulnerable populations in the U.S. Please see How to Apply.

Projects must be new, community-based and nominated by a local funder such as a community or family foundation, a corporate or independent foundation, or other philanthropy. Read the Call for Proposals.

The application deadline is July 8, 2008 for awards to begin July 1, 2009. Listen to a recording of an optional applicant phone call held on May 13th 2008 to learn more about the application process.


Advice for Applicants
BODYLOVE
There is no “magic recipe” for a competitive proposal for Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Local Funding Partnerships (LFP). It’s hard to define what makes an idea innovative. In "Out of the Box" you’ll find a few examples of projects that illustrate what innovation looks like.

Child FIRST

This innovative, highly collaborative mental health program works to prevent serious emotional and learning problems among very young children in inner-city Bridgeport, CT.

The project addresses factors outside the health care system—such as poverty, violence, inadequate housing or education—to relieve stress on children and families. Read more about Child FIRST.
